amber dearest – montréal, québec – canada / maranda elizabeth – toronto – canada
32 pages – quarter size
amber & maranda are twins and every once and a while they make a split zine and it’s always basicly the best thing ever. the over arching theme this time is Saturn return which according to wikipedia is “an astrological transit that occurs when the planet Saturn returns to the same place in the sky that it occupied at the moment of a person’s birth” and “psychologically, the first saturn return is seen as the time of reaching full adulthood, and being faced, perhaps for the first time, with adult challenges and responsibilities.” on her side, Amber writes about leaking ceilings, learning to talk to strangers, a tarot reading in the park and so much more. and on their half, Maranda writes about reconnecting with their teenage self, getting their birth chart done, reading tarot and, again, so Much More. my description has probably made this zine sound like some sort of ‘new age hoo haa’ (i’m bad at descriptions) but while astrology and tarot reading etc are prevelant, they are here All related to life experiences and themes of recovery, self care and getting to know yourself ~*better*~ and it’s a great, interesting read whether you believe in astrology, tarot, etc or not.
